UNDER THE DREAM is a hybrid work of somatic cinema that radically reimagines the boundaries between documentary and fiction, wake and dream, science and spirituality.
The story unfolds as a mythic healing journey, where the wound is the modern Western disconnect from dream life, and the stakes are the commercial neurotechnologies encroaching ever closer to our inner worlds. Accompanied by the Dream Doula, our guide through the dreamscape, we meet the scientists and technologists building dream tech, the companies venturing into dream advertising, and the cultural dream workers who protect the dreamworld as a sacred space.
The film empowers the audience with the rare position of proactive choice. Rather than reactively document the impact of this new tech on our lives, UNDER THE DREAM places the audience front and center with the question: what will You choose for the future of our dreams?
